A head count to determine the make-up of the House of Representatives is all that is required by the Constitution.....All the rest of the questions on the Census are intrusive, racist, un-Constitutional and none of their business. They are questions that would provide the socialists with information to further their welfare state. If you feel it's your duty to aid the government in this census, then answer the head count and ignore all the other questions. Otherwise boycott it completely. applying what Patrick Henry said: "The constitution is not an instrument for government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government -- lest it come to dominate our lives and interests." In other words, the Constitution requires the government take a Census, it does NOT require the people to cooperate. Live Free or Die. ------------------ -begin article- Boycotting the Census by William Cooper VNS Exclusive - March 10, 2000 — The Constitution mandates that the federal government conduct a census of the population every 10 years. A census is a head count. Over the years it has been corrupted into something else altogether. Most of the questions asked on the census form are much more than intrusive. Most of the questions have absolutely nothing to do with counting our population. Instead it appears that someone is building a gigantic database on each American Citizen. And the advertising campaign supposedly designed to solicit cooperation with census takers is actually an appeal to participate in Marxist socialism on a grande scale. Most Americans have willingly participated in the census in past years. Well... all that seems to have changed. Americans, angry at the emergence of a police-state, and fed up generally with all the government intrusion into their lives, are actively boycotting this census. Even those we would call sheople are refusing to participate. In the area where I live so many People have slammed doors in census-takers faces that they have given up. Now they move down the street estimating the answers to questions, and filling out each form, for each house they pass, themselves. Sometimes they leave a bag of material attached to a doorknob, but face to face interaction with the People of this valley just isn’t happening anymore. There is nothing wrong with the attitude and action, or lack thereof, of those who do not wish to participate. The constitutional mandate is that the federal government conduct a census. The federal government must do that to the best of its ability. But, lacking jurisdiction within the territorial boundaries of the several States, the federal government has no power to demand that any Citizen of any State participate in helping them complete their task. Laws requiring participation would have to be passed by State‘s legislatures in order to force participation. Are you going to help them complete the census, including answering all those big-brother intrusive questions? I will be happy to tell the census-taker how many People live in this house, but nothing more. I will not give them any names, and I will not answer any other question. Like so many others I became fed up with the unconstitutional actions and unconscionable intrusion of the federal government into my life a long time ago. I don’t know what all this means, but if it‘s what it appears... the pendulum may be starting to swing. Throughout history extreme social moves to the so-called left or right have always produced a backlash with a corresponding swing in the opposite direction. The Marxist big-brother, police-state trend of the last two decades may have reached a peak. The boycott of the census may be the first major indication that a backlash is underway. Of course it could also be an indication that another social engineering project along the lines of Oklahoma City may be on the horizon.
