Please believe there is no pleasure in being a messenger
with bad news. I certainly would never attempt to take away
your "angels and saints".
It occurs to me you already know the answers to these
questions you are asking about the FED.
However, assuming you are sincerely seeking answers,
here is some more information which may be helpful to you.
The fact that the FED Chairman and the Board of Governors
are "appointed" by the government does give the appearance
that there is some degree of government control.
That's the purpose of it.....appearances.
The President merely "rubber stamps" an "appointee".
The lengths of the terms and their overlapping periods
guarantees that no President could "stack" the Board of
Governors, even if he wanted to do this.
The plain fact is that the FED is completely unaccountable.
As former House Banking Committee Chairman Henry Gonzales
said: "...totally unaccountable either to the President, or to
the Congress."
Consider that the White House undergoes an annual audit.
So does the Pentagon. So does every lawful Federal Agency.
But the Federal Reserve has never been audited.
Not once since it's unlawful creation through fraud in 1913.

1941 $48 Billion (just prior to World War 2)
1946 $269 Billion
1963 $309 Billion
1973 $470 Billion
1983 $1.4 Trillion

As you are probably know, there is a lot of inaccurate
and misleading information floating around on the internet.
It's always a good idea to go "straight to the horse's mouth"
as they say.
