Forgive the lack of clarity, or rather the incomprehensibility. A late
night....
I think what I was trying to say was that the claim that by "arguing and
quibbling over small details, you are playing into the hands of the
conspirators" was a bit rich if not bizarre. If anything, it is a call for
ideological unity, for all of us be committed to the big picture and to
interpret concerns over the details as sinister attempts at sabotaging the
precious consensus - or at least an activity which supports the
"conspirators".
I find that attitude dangerous because, first, it negates and rejects
counter-views on political grounds, and second, it obstructs the legitimate
quest for the truth by asserting that we already know it - although I would
contend that we don't - and that further consideration is counter-productive.
And I suppose finally I would question whether "we" were a unified "movement"
anyway, but just a lot of people with different views on similar topics...
Hope that's a bit clearer.
