From: Daniel Hopsicker <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> The biggest revelation in "Barry and 'the boys'" is that the death of Adler Berriman Seal was part of a coordinated hit which claimed numerous victims on three continents--simultaneously. And thus the biggest mystery has been placing 'unifomrs' of one side or the other on the 'players' involved. Someone on this list--I'm not at liberty to say who--has offered some insight into this Valentines' Day Massacre, in response to my question about the difference 'tween C130's and C131's. It appears that the conflict began the previous year. Here's my comment, followed by our friend's (lets call him Deep Moat) news.... (BTW...there's a LOT of John Hull stuff surfacing currently, for some odd reason, in connection with the Noriega/Bush wire stories posted here yesterday. ME: some pretty interesting stuff here. its taken years for an (outsider) like myself to get even a dim picture of the drug war in which barry seal found himself a casualty. DEEP MOAT: Perhaps of interest to you, during the time that Adler Seal was alive and active, the Convair CV440 was also being flown by the Bolivian freight airline Carga Arero Transportada, whose aircraft CP 1489 crashed on initial takeoff climb from the Santa Rosa, Bolivia airport 20 April 1985, killing the three crewmembers and one passenger aboard. I don't know what the cargo was....

Similarly, about two months earlier a Bolivian military CV440 was damaged during a landing at La Paz airport, though I don't believe anyone died in that incident.

There were a few other planes that went in that direction in which I believe Seal had acted as a broker or middleman, probably receiving a salesman's or finder's fee, thougfh I think that was as much as a decade earlier. The planes, mostly baled surplus military C47s, were transferred through the New Orleans area on their way south, though I don't know their eventual destination or previous USAF or N-numbers. I could likely come up with a starting point and at least some other info though. Interestingly, it was around John Hull's old area of operations.... So I asked: "Sounds like that bolivian crash was invovled in this war. am i correct?" DEEP MOAT: You'd need to look at the *Watch Tower* Deaths as well, which began with Colonel Bayard in Atlanta, around 03 JL 1976 as I recall, a death very similar to that of Adler Seal on 19 FE 1986.

Prior to Clinton's election, Operation SNOWCAP was in full swing beginning in 1987 with all kinds of bizarre, internecine results: honest DEA guys trying to block all drug operations, trafficantes turning the competition in, and spooks in several different varieties trying to either build their careers within their own agencies or feather their nests and collect early retirement *coffee money*. I don't know the circumstances of the Bolivian Convair difficulties but would note that their air force and commercial airlines sometimes shared maintenance personnel. I could make informed guesses as to what could have been going on, but that's what they'd be. I think it more than a coincidence that Seal happened to pick the same type plane though.
