Allow me to recommend the definitive book on the extinction of the
mammoth. Surprisingly enough it's called: The Extinction of the Mammoth by
Charles Ginenthal. It's extremely detailed and technical. For an academic
tome, though, it's a surprisingly accessable read. There's a fair bit of
technical jargon to be wades through, but it's easy enough to look up. You
should have a good science dictionary within arm's reach while you read
this book, but you should really have a good science dictionary within
arms reach anyhow. Look up about two dozen new words as you read The
Extinction of the Mammoth and suddenly the book begins to read like a
courtroom drama. The evidence is absolutely stunning. There is a LOT of
it. You will find yourself forced to discard the dominant paradigm long
before you finish the book.

It's a great book. Read it. You'll be glad you did.

It's available from an always excellent source of information you should
know but can't be found without seeking. Seek no longer. This is the place:
