First I want to assure you I agree fully with you.
This is not an argument, but an explanation.
According to official information from the
Congressional Budget Office:
In 1950, most American families were single income families.
The prevailing pattern was that dad worked and provided the
income to support the family and mom was home with the children
and running the household. (This is arguably the most important
job in the world).
Single income families had a good standard of living.
HOW COULD THEY DO THAT IN 1950?
WHY CAN'T THEY DO THAT NOW?
HERE'S WHY!
In 1950, the average American family paid only FIVE PERCENT
of its annual income for taxes!
That's a total of 5 percent of annual income for all taxes
including local, state and federal!
Today, the average family pays over half of its income for taxes!
Read that again!
TODAY, THE AVERAGE FAMILY PAYS OVER ONE HALF
OF ITS ANNUAL INCOME FOR TAXES!!!
THIS IS WHY MOST FAMILIES TODAY ARE DUAL INCOME FAMILIES.
ONE SPOUSE WORKS TO PAY THE TAXES,
ONE SPOUSE WORKS TO PAY THE FAMILY'S BILLS AND EXPENSES.
On top of the above reality, the government indoctrination centers
(commonly called public schools), and the national media have
spread the doctrine that there is something wrong with a woman
who doesn't have a career outside the home.
So for a high percentage of families, homeschooling presents
some nearly insurmountable obstacles.
And with half of the income going to all taxes in various forms,
only a small percentage have the money for private schooling.
Mandatory public schooling is the 10th Plank of
The Communist Manifesto.
And most people think it's as American as apple pie.
I applaud and salute all parents who homeschool their children.
