I wonder if these wonderful lawmakers ever even heard of the first
amendment.
Bill Criminalizes Drug Links
http://www.wired.com/news/politics/0,1283,36209,00.html
Summary:
A bill (http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d106:h.r.02987:)
up for vote in the House Judiciary Committee would make it
a federal crime to "publish or link to information related
to illegal drugs or drug advertising." A much harsher bill
(http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d106:s.00486:)
going through the Senate would require ISPs to shut down
sites that violate these drug provisions within 48 hours of
learning of any violation of this drug policy.
Commentary:
I wonder how long the government will continue on this
trend of rights-violations for the sake of the ineffective
drug policy before legalization finally gets seriously
considered.
