John SEX LAW REFORM WILL ALLOW MEN TO KISS PUBLICLY' Wholesale reform of Britain's sex laws is reportedly being planned by the Government. Home Secretary Jack Straw has long said that Britain's sex laws - some of which date back almost 200 years - are anachronistic, and early last year set up a sexual offences review group to consult widely on how they could be modernised. A report is not expected until July, but The Guardian has suggested that it will include an end to the ban on males kissing in public, better protection for victims of child sex abuse and male victims of rape and redefinition of terms such as prostitution and incest. Anomalies such as the fact that men and women face different charges if they have consensual sex with under-age children or that only men can be charged with indecent exposure are to be ironed out, says the paper. A Home Office spokesman has confirmed that these issues are being considered by the review group, but added: "The group's report is not due until July, and the Home Office has released no details of its contents."
