If this report is true as stated, then the press were NOT witnesses
to 'abuse from Juan Miguel'...they supposedly overheard a family
argument, and supposedly noticed a supposed bruise on the current
Senora Gonzalez afterwards.
The writer of the article (and if the report is true, the news
department of radio station WIOD) then makes a leap of logic that
Senora Gonzalez's bruise was due to spousal abuse. But the report
admits that no one SAW her receive a blow from her husband, in fact
it doesn't even mention that the reporters HEARD her getting hit.
"A bruise across her face" is not the usual bruise one sees in a
case of spousal abuse, where the blow is usually from a closed fist
to a specific area of the face -- an eye, the nose, mouth, etc.
One bruise which crosses the face (if the report is accurate) suggests
either a fall, or being hit with a long object, such as a stick or bat.
As such, if she was hit by anybody, I'd suspect a misbehaving Elian...

There ARE no neighbors to the Wye estate, at least none close enough
to hear any supposed arguing going on between Senor and Senora
Gonzalez. The whole reason the Wye estate was chosen was due to its
remoteness...
I hear my neighbors arguing all the time (I live in an apartment
complex)...no one's ever said that because these people argue, they
don't deserve custody of their own kids...

Hearsay. Inadmissable in a court as 'evidence'...

Oh, now we have supposed reports from psychics, who can read the
minds of people and fathom when they are lying and when they are
not.
We are not given the Cuban's exact words, nor by what manner this
psychic was able to fathom the Cuban was lying...

Again, we have a psychic able to read minds. This person 'knows'
exactly how a couple of million Cubans think and feel.
I wouldn't even make the claim that "Germans that [sic] lived under
the Nazi regime were not like u [sic] and I. They lived in constant
fear and thought twice before they spoke..."
That statement would be true of SOME Germans living in Nazi Germany,
but not all. Simularly, the statement of the psychic is true of
SOME Cubans, but not all of them...some Cubans are quite satisfied
with the status quo, much to the chagrin of the fanatical anti-
Castro-ites....

Or maybe there is no abuse.
The fanatics know that the only legal leg they now have is to
'prove' Juan Miguel Gonzalez is an unfit father...
Interesting that nothing was said about supposed abuse all the
months the fanatical supporters of the Miami gang called for
Juan Miguel to come to the U.S. to see his son in person...
Only when Elian's father DID come, and express a desire to return
to Cuba with Elian, did this claim of supposed abuse arise...

Sorry, but this is NOT 'obvious' to those of us who utilize critical
thinking and analysis. It is only 'obvious' to the Miami gang and
its fanatical supporters who are grasping at any straw in their
attempt to 'legally' kidnap Elian...

The problem with the above statement is that it presupposes that when
Elian says he wants to stay in the U.S., he is speaking 'freely', and
when he says he wants to return to Cuba, he is not....
Yet the fanatical anti-Castro-ites can't change the fact that when
Elian was first rescued, on the VERY DAY he was rescued, he was shown
on TV saying he wanted to return to Cuba...and therefore shows the
REAL feelings of this child, before any faction has 'gotten' to him...

That doesn't mean that we are getting the truth from the Miami gang
and its fanatical supporters, either...
