Dear Sir or Madam:
I’ve enclosed the online version of an article published in the
Sunday edition of the Boston Globe, dated May 21, 2000. It’s an
exceptional article by a local Bay Area free lance reporter,
Leslie Kean, entitled _UFO theorists gain support abroad, but
repression at home_. I would strongly urge you to reprint this
article in your paper due to the importance of the information
presented.
The article discusses a study by high-level military officials in
France called the COMETA report. After a three year study, the
authors conclude that “5 percent of sightings on which there is
solid documentation cannot be easily attributed to earthly
sources, such as secret military exercises”. The group, which
includes a four star general and the former head of the French
equivalent of NASA, is urging international cooperation with the
European Union, the United States and other countries to study
the UFO matter.
The Boston Globe and later the Minneapolis Star-Tribune which
picked up the story for it’s May 28th Sunday Paper, both
exhibited courage in publishing Leslie Kean's article. It is so
important for information of this nature to be made available to
the American people. Obviously, the information regarding
possible extraterrestrial activity is available to citizens of
other countries. It is a puzzle to me why a free nation like the
United States would hesitate to publicly and openly discuss this
matter on an official level.
I deeply hope that you will take up the charge and bravely
publish this article and other serious, responsible ones of this
type in your newspaper.
