I have to disagree... Rock4 It's working... the system that is... slow as it may be. You speak of isolated incidences that do not occur on a grandiose scale of the gun purchasing stats. I know of people who can't even get a credit card or purchase a home because of bogus information on their credit reports that even attorneys can't seem to remove or resolve with these reporting agencies... And so what? __IT happens. Computers are only as good as those who program them. IF the information about your friends is wrong, it is a travesty, but not a tragedy. I remain an avid anti-gun control person. I believe that every law abiding citizen who has an average IQ intelligence understands that a gun can kill. But still I believe that the intelligent law abiding citizen is entitled to own and possess a gun in this country. Why? Because responsible, intelligent, law abiding people do not commit murder. And as I was taught in the military, don't aim a gun at anyone unless you aim to kill. The only reason I maintain a gun is to protect my family and my property against the ignorant bastards who haven't got the average IQ of spit and don't seem to have any value of other people's possessions or human life. What good is gun control when only ignorant illiterate criminals have the guns... ??? The idea is to eliminate THEM, if they invade the privacy and rights of law abiding citizens. IF this should ever happen, that the criminals are eliminated, there will be a lot of guns sitting in the closets collecting dust.
