The purpose of this message is to update everyone on developments regarding the June 29th Conference. The June 29th conference is definitely on. It's a go. Howard Phillips and Edwin Vieira have agreed to attend and speak. Alan Keyes and Pat Buchanan are seriously considering doing the same. A close personal friend of Ron Paul's delivered a note to his home encouraging him to attend. Here is a full court press on to have these and other notables attend. The most interesting news of the day is that we have gotten the attention of Bill Gates' personal secretary, who received an invitation from some of you.She has asked that we fax the details of the issue and the conference to her. She said, "As soon as I receive the fax I will put it in Mr. Gates' hands and he will read it." It would be nice if Bill Gates would attend the Conference, listen to the speakers and then announce that if the government is not interested in having expert constitutional scholars and historians review the research of Benson, Banister, Becraft, Bosset and Conklin, he (Bill Gates) is, and that he would help underwrite such a review. A two-page ad (center fold) regarding the June 29th conference will appear in the Washington Times, national weekly edition, which will arrive in mailboxes on Monday, June 19th. The heading of the ad will stretch across the two pages and will read, "Dear Government: Why won't you answer?" It will feature the three propositions on the unconstitutional and illegal income tax system, the quote by the White House, "The legality of the income tax is not a high priority item at the White House and we will not participate in any conference on the subject," the events leading up to the government's reneging on its promise, an open invitation to Clinton, Lott and Hastert to send their experts to the conference to argue in opposition to the propositions and a second open invitation to a ll members of congress, presidential candidates, constitutional scholars, professors, historians, judges, attorneys, columnists and anyone else who has spoken publicly about the unconstitutionality or illegality of t he income tax and wishes to argue in support of the three propositions. Everyone needs to continue contacting these people to encourage them to attend the conference.You are making a difference. Keep the requests flowing. He told me he would be seeking approval to offer a deep-discounted rate for a trial (short-term) subscription of the Washington Times for anyone asking for the issue with the We The People Ad. Does anyone know the name of, and how to contact the juror who spoke publicly last week after the jury acquitted Whitey Harrell of willful failure to file? Apparently, the jury acquitted Whitey after the jury asked the judge to cite the law that required Whitey to file and pay the income tax, and the judge wouldn't answer their question.. We'd like to pay that juror's way to the Conference. There is a good chance C-SPAN will cover the event. The juror's story needs to be told on national TV. We would like to see a full room at the conference, reflecting the fact that, even if the government doesn't think so, the people believe the question of the unconstitutionality of the income tax and the legality of the operations of the income tax system to be of the utmost importance, and the government's vading of the question cannot be long tolerated if Americans are to be free. Everyone is encouraged to make the personal and financial sacrifice to attend the June 29th Conference. The agenda is obviously still "under construction." We have reserved the main ballroom at the National Press Club for the whole day. However, until we know more about the potential requirements of Keyes, Buchanan, Paul, Gates and others who may want to speak, we are not able to schedule the hours of the conference, the order of the speakers, etc. We would prefer to limit the conference to three or four hours. We will have a press release ready early next week, as well as model letters to the editor. We need to wait to see who steps forward as a result of our ad in the news paper. We want to thank everyone who notified us last week that they are going to send a donation to help us with the cost of the conference, especially the advertising cost. On the strength of those commitments we were able to commit to a two-page ad, and we are able to think about running an ad next week as well.
