In 1945 the German Armies surrendered and a revenge -filled General
 Eisenhower ordered
the surrendering soldiers be put out into these open fields, barbed wire
 fences were put
around the fields and the soldiers were left there, with no shelter, no
 water
 or food and no
medical treatment. Around one million of these men died either from hunger,
 illness or they
were killed or badly wounded by the American soldiers patrolling the
perimeter of the camp, who, whenever they felt like it, would fire their
weapons indiscriminately into the camp . >>

I understand General Eisenhauer's feelings, since I know he visited many
prisoners of war (Americans) who were in terrible condition. I even knew one
of the men he visited many years ago; however the General should not have
taken it out on the German soldiers who had no choice but to fight. If he
was going to put someone into barbed wire encampments, he should have
selected the very folks who got out of Germany via the Rat Line. A good many
of the real creeps made it to South America, Mexico or even the United
States. And amazingly some of them have received funds from Germany all of
these years. Prudy
