A note from Cynthia Ford, a N. California researcher:
In 1985, a U.S. Army report (DOD, "Biological Defense Program," ch. 1,
pp. 8-9) noted: It is possible to artificially produce the natural
biological substances which exert potent regulatory effects on the body.
These substances are normally present in the body in minute amounts and
control mental states; mood and emotion; perception; organ function, growth
and repair; temperature; and other body processes. These substances ar4e
not considered to be toxic and are indespensable to the normal functioning
of the human body. but even slight imbalances can cause profound
physiological effects, leading to incapacitation and even death. Due to the
advent of rDNA, these substances can be produced in large amounts by
molecular cloning. In fact, in this form they are stable, simple to store,
and rapidly expandable.
