        Activist Alert
        August 20, 2000

Grab Your Shovels and Join the Convoy!

Get your shovel, your American flags, yellow ribbons, and come
join our convoy! Things are falling nicely into place for the Grim
Reaper Convoy to Darby, Ohio for the Darby Farmland Rally. Thousands
of donated shovels used in Jarbidge, Nevada to re-open the South
Canyon Road are on their way to London, Ohio to help local farmers
“dig” their way out from under a massive U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
land grab.

Paragon Foundation, People for the USA, Montanans For Multiple
Use, Stewards of the Darby, the Jarbidge Shovel Brigade and a passel
of other groups and dedicated citizens have been working incredibly
hard to arrange what is probably the biggest cooperative grassroots
event ever in support of property rights (and other freedoms)...and we
invite you to join in!

The Jarbidge Shovel Brigade is handling the initial loading of
the shovels in Elko, Nevada with a barbecue and rally the evening of
August 24th and will then hold events the 25th and 26th in Salt Lake
City. See www.jarbidgeshovelbrigade.com for more specifics.

Then the Grim Reaper crew will re-stage to Rock Springs to kick
off the actual West-to-East Grim Reaper Convoy. As the Grim Reaper
Convoy works its way east to Ohio and the Darby Farmland Rally on
September 2, 2000, supporting state rallies will be held along the
route: August 28 in Rock Springs, WY; Aug 29 - North Platte,NE; Aug
30 - Des Moines, IA: and Aug 31- Roselawn, IN. Grassroots activists
wishing to join this unprecedented convoy along its Interstate 80
routing, or seeking to pool with others, can check out a detailed
convoy route schedule on the Montanans for Multiple Use website
(www.mtmultipleuse.org). Click on Action Alerts and also the Bulletin
Board.Updated convoy position reports will also be posted to the MFMU
Bulletin Board as they come in between 9 AM and 5 PM Mountain
Daylight Time.

However, if you are not able to attend a rally or join the
convoy, you can still participate. A fund to pay the expense of fuel
for the Grim Reaper has been set up. Any donations above and beyond
convoy expenses will be shared between Stewards of the Darby and the
Jarbidge Shovel Brigade to help them keep up their fight.

As many of you know, the federal government is suing the
Jarbidge Brigade (again) and is also planning to hire a contractor to
wreck the South Canyon Road re-opened by the Jar-bidge Brigade on
July 4...AGAIN. Nor can we expect the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
to meekly walk away from its 30-year plan to buy itself (with YOUR
money) a shiny new 50,000-acre Darby Refuge, either. So, it’s time to
show some transcontinental, multi-regional, multiple-interest
COOPERATION -- and just a little “green.” Please, just a few bucks will
make a world of difference. These are humble folks, just like you,
facing not only the wrath of overzealous federal bureaucrats and
lawyers, but that of high-dollar Green special interests with an axe
to grind. And you bet they will use that axe to chop up YOUR freedoms
someday.

Come on, folks -- let’s make this convoy ROAR with the sounds
of freedom.
