Actually, Jesus wasn't a liberal. He was a revolutionary. That's why
they killed him. Had he been a liberal, he would have supported the
status quo and they would have left him alone. Instead, he went downtown
and incited a riot and the rest is history.
Actually, Jesus was no such thing as a "revolutionary" in any modern sense
of the term.
He has been presented as such by certain secular Jews, Jesuit priests
preaching Marxist "Liberation Theology" for their own political ends, and
originally by certain of the Pharisees, Sadducees, Herodians and et al who
set him up on the same false charge via a kangaroo court and had him killed.
His ideas and acts may have been "revolutionary," but fundamentally, he
derived his philosophy for life and living from the "Torah," or, the Old
Testament.
Indeed, Jesus himself essentially accused many of the religious politicos of
his day as being revolutionaries and lawless, departing and rebelling from
the LAW of God by their own vacuous man-made TRADITIONS.
Hence, Jesus constantly condemns these lawless men, many whom were leaders
of Israel, throughout his mission, and he does so by passages and dictums as
per the following:
"Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples
according to the TRADITION OF THE ELDERS, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of YOU
HYPOCRITES, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but
their heart is far from me. Howbeit in vain do they worship me, TEACHING
FOR DOCTRINES THE COMMANDMENTS OF MEN. For LAYING ASIDE THE COMMANDMENT OF
GOD, YE HOLD THE TRADITION OF MEN, as the washing of pots and cups: and MANY
OTHER SUCH LIKE THINGS YE DO. And he said unto them, Full well YE REJECT
THE COMMANDMENT OF GOD, THAT YE MAY KEEP YOUR OWN TRADITION." Mark 7:5-9
Clearly, Jesus emphasises the fact that the religio-politicos are the REAL
revolutionaries here. They are lawless men, like many of their modern
counterparts, oft drunk by their own megalomania and craving power, who
invent a plethora of "laws" and "traditions" to proliferate and protect
their own self-interest and power.
In addition, at the core of Jesus' words of course, is the thought that such
men commit their lawless acts and wilful treason, not only against their
fellow men, but ultimately because they a rebels and escapees from God's
love and Lawful Order.
The tone of his words, "FULL WELL ye reject the commandment of God" gives
the sense that such men are in fact DESPISERS of God.
