God wanted Adam to choose one of the animals as his mate.

Strangely all this (and the following) seems to get left out of Sunday School classes,
leading to the millions of Christians who have wondered 'If Adam and Eve had 2
children, Cain and Abel, and Cain killed Abel, where did everyone else come from?'.
