He's still George II our unelected president to me and many others. It
should be interesting though. If he gets Ashcroft through, AND holds the
economy together, he may just slide through with little active protest
(Ashcroft will make sure any public protest is squelched). If Ashcroft
fails to pass, but the economy stays strong, there will not be too much
protest (depending on what other moves he makes). If Ashcroft fails AND
the economy goes poop, George II may be the first president run out on a
rail. Th EU is sizing this turkey up to see how best to break the
stranglehold the U.S. holds on the rest of the world. The inherited Plan
Columbia should put Central and South America firmly against us. His
trade policy with Canada and Mexico is based on the continued strength of
the U.S. monetarily and militarily. A weakened U.S. will not be able to
muscle favorable trade agreements from either of these two. George II
seems to be too dubya to realize he has big credibility problems.
