Perhaps. Perhaps not. The size of McConnell's audience has not one iota of relevance to the points he raises regarding Bell's credibility. If Bell's personal situation was such as to demand his total attention, he would have retained some credibility if he'd announced that he had to take a leave of absence from broadcasting for an indeterminate length of time, but that he'd endeavor to return ASAP. By announcing that he was leaving the airwaves "forever", then returning in less than a year's time, you can't blame anyone outside of Bell's fanatical devotees for pointing out the dishonesty.
