No Prudy you are wrong. It is a matter of life or death. I lived there for a while
some years ago. I lived among the Arab villages on the western border of the
West Bank. On some summer evenings we would hitch a wagon to a tractor and hay
ride to the coastal beach SEVEN AND A HALF MILES AWAY. The country is less than
eight miles wide. Do you understand what this means? Do you understand what it
means to have a common border with an armed enemy who is literally in the middle
of your country. It means that there is no recovery time. For either side.

People see Israel as potent military power. And it is. But what most people
don't understand is that if it ever loses a war, it and it's population are
dead. Other countries can lose wars and survive. Israel can't.

Where do you get this concept? Israel isn't just another country. Israel has
no reason for being if it is not a Jewish country. It serves the purpose of
being the only guaranteed safe haven for Jews.

If you don't understand why Jews think that's necessary, then you don't
understand what's happening in the Middle East. This is why there will be
no right of return for Palestinians to Israel proper. Besides the security
issue of having a large antagonistic population share your country, there are
the demographic, cultural, religious, and political issues where, because it
is a democracy, the country can be taken over and it's character changed from
what it was originally intended. This is cultural suicide.

There are people who think this is a good thing. They are Palestinians who
would benefit directly, and Liberals who think in terms of the polyglot, and
multicultural societies they are familiar with. However, this has little or
nothing to do with a situation where two nations are squabbling over the same
real-estate and it's a life or death situation for one or both of them.

There " were." That's the operative word. They haven't lived there since before
the last half of the last century yet you make it seem like last year. Why are
YOU comfortable living on Indian land? Why don't some of you give up your homes
to the Mexican families of the Southwest whose lands your ancestors stole,
chiseled, and started wars for? Why don't you give up your home to a nice
Indian or Mexican family and get the hell back to Europe where you came from?

It's real big of you to feel self righteous about expecting that from someone
else when you don't even think about doing it yourself. Why don't you clean
your own house before you stick your nose into some body else's business half
a world away.

The Palestinians' objections are completely justified.

Not exactly. They are killed for warring because of the loss of their country.
Those that don't war don't die.

Ridiculous. You're pretty lame if you think that is the only solution. Besides,
Palestinians insured their existence in the same way that the Jews insured
theirs, by living in many different places.

They probably would object to the very end. But let's see if Jews deal with
their enemies better than white Christians have throughout their glorious
history. Until then, hypocrites in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
