Those of you who attacked her and stated that she was personally making the comments contained in the article, name calling, etc. are 'way out of line. Your usual attempts to silence anybody not in agreement with you display your little agenda. I wonder if Kris really wants you to decimate his list for him while he is trying to promote the book, etc. NESSIE, as for your threats to "hurt" the poster, I cannot tell you the contempt with which I now hold you. I have been doing volunteer work with battered women the last three years. Yesterday afternoon, I went to court with one as the organization with which I am associated, Hope Place, assists women in getting out of relationships with and away from men who think exactly as you said you do in the second post to Kindred Spirit, the one where you will "hurt" her if she insults one of your friends, etc. That excuse if not right after "she made me do it" is in the top 5 you abusers use. NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO "HURT" ANOTHER PERSON EXCEPT IN SELF DEFENSE. Not even you, Nessie. Do you still have your radio show? Have you shared with your sponsors your right to hurt people? If not, why not and if so, do they approve? So based on your logic and belief system that one hurts those who say/post/think things of which one does not approve or deems insulting, what if, just for example, I find your constantly calling people who are my friend or those for whom I have regard "Nazi, bigoted, racist" when I know you are lying, I would be entitled to forward your posts to my two former classmates in the San Francisco (and one in San Diego) who could, in turn, pass them all around until somebody decided they believed as you do and had the right to hurt you. JUNE, I was surprised that you remained silent while Nessie threatened to hurt another poster but after reading your remarks concerning Super Bowl Sunday, apparently you are into this men hurting women thing, too. I wish you could see some of the women who arrive in the Huntsville shelter, which is totally inadequate. I have had two in my home briefly when there was not room at the shelter but it is always a frightening thing as these men with the right to hurt women may find us. They have to stay inside, away from windows and cannot use the phone, lie down in the backseat of my car under a blanket to get to the house. I have to lock a gate to my driveway, another to my yard and a third to my immediate back yard and entrance, etc., a whole series of required safe guards to even offer these women shelter as all too often these men who "hurt" women find them and kill or injure others to get to the object of their abuse. Whether or not it is SuperBowl Sunday when these things happen, go to the DOJ website on the Violence Against Women Act section and read how 4,000 women are killed every year by men who think just like this, that they have the "right" to hurt if their friends are insulted, their dinner is cold, the kids are noisy or whatever. Often they claim they only meant to "hurt" the woman and express their surprise at how easily she was killed. Only 200-300 men are killed by domestic violence during a year so spare me the "men are abused. too" routine. Heard it. Lots. Seldom applies. This has been a cause on which I have spent a great deal of my time and effort over the last three years and it is very dear to my heart. I also moderate a support list for these women. I have nothing but the greatest contempt for men who treat women this way even if it is just in a threat over the internet.
