WHITEWATCH: U.S. Attorney Mary Jo White, already probing Bill Clinton's
pardon of Marc Rich, is now considering a look into his clemency for four
defrauders. - Yechiam Gal

Manhattan U.S. Attorney Mary Jo White islooking to expand her criminal probe
of Bill Clinton to determine if he granted clemency to four Rockland County
men in a pardon-for-votes deal, The Post has learned.
White is already probing the ex-president's pardons of financier Marc Rich
and his old business partner Pincus Green.

And now she is considering whether to launch a separate investigation into
Clinton's decision to shorten the prison terms of four New Square men who
stole millions from the federal government, sources said.

New Square, a Hasidic village, voted overwhelmingly for Clinton's wife,
Hillary, in November's Senate race.

"There have been conversations [about the New Square clemency case]," said a
source close to White. "It is under consideration."

But she has not yet opened a formal probe.

The Rich pardon raised eyebrows because Denise Rich, the ex-wife of the
financier, has given over $1 million to the Democrats and $450,000 to help
build the Clinton library.

In the New Square case, Clinton granted clemency to four men who were
convicted of swiping millions in federal education grants by establishing a
fake Jewish school. The clemency came after Clinton held a Dec. 22 meeting
in the White House with then-Senator-elect Hillary Clinton and New Square
religious leader Rabbi David Twersky.

New Square had delivered nearly all its votes to Hillary in the Nov. 7
election, giving her 1,359 votes to just 10 for her opponent Rick Lazio.

The results were almost the mirror opposite of two other all-Hasidic
villages in the area, which gave 3,480 votes to Rick Lazio and only 152 to
Hillary.

Meanwhile, sources said White has served a subpoena on the Clinton library,
asking for a list of donors and contributions made to the as-yet-unbuilt
library.

Clinton lawyer David Kendall is fighting a congressional subpoena requesting
similar documents, saying he will provide the names and amounts given by
some of the donors, but not all.

The congressional subpoena wants the names of everyone who gave the library
$5,000 or more - a request Kendall claims is too broad and would violate the
donors' privacy.

White's office declined to comment on the case.
