The House Government Reform Committee still wants to talk to Denise Rich about the pardon Clinton gave her former husband. An immunity deal she struck with Mary Jo White, the U.S. attorney in New York, opens the door. Committee aides say the panel will probably give her a similar immunity deal. The committee and a federal grand jury in New York are trying to determine if Clinton pardoned Marc Rich as part of a quid pro quo arrangement with the billionaire financier or his former wife. Lawyers familiar with the New York investigation say grand jury witnesses called by White include a number of people whose pardon applications were rejected.
