Powell will deliver opening remarks to the annual meeting of the Bretton Woods Committee on Friday, April 27, at 9:15 a.m. in the State Department's Loy Henderson Auditorium, 2201 C St., N.W. Subject of Secretary 's remarks is "The Role of the Bretton Woods Institutions in Promoting Freedom and Prosperity." The Secretary will discuss how the International Monetary Fund and World Bank, in an atmosphere of free trade, can ease global poverty. Following his remarks, Secretary Powell will respond to a few questions from the Bretton Woods Committee members. The Secretary's remarks and the question-and-answer session will be open for press coverage.
