Interestig points. My experience not only confirms the argument but extends
it into broader fields. I've never given my side of the "assistance to the
Soviets" story but I have a memorandum in safe hands which will be published
after I have gone.
My trials started with publication of National Suicide; Military Aid To The
Soviet Union published by Arlington House in 1973. (Still available today
from Amazon as The Best enemy Money Can Buy) I deliberately concealed the
work from Hoover Institution (where I was then a Research Fellow) because I
had picked up Government interest in suppressing the story. Neither I nor
Arlington House said anything or even hinted such a book was in press.
The book was a complete surprise to the establishment. When copies arrived
there was chaos at Hoover (supposedly conservative and "right"). The
Director W Glenn Campbell tried to have the book withdrawn. I refused.
The CIA types at Hoover tried to claim plagiarism (!) Both I and my
secretary were dismissed....and assorted threats came down the grapevine.
The best being " you won't survive".
Ther is no question that the establishment suppresses. If it cannot buy off
the culpret it uses threats and worse. In my case I had shown the "cold
war" to be a hoax for the profit of large corporations and paid for in the
blood of American forces.
What do We do? First. Throw off the idea of "right" and left". This is
a Hegelian trap to divide.
It is a difficult step for many but essential.
The battle between "us" and "them" "Them" being an amoral, greedy and
unprincipled establishment. Look at Gore and Bush and you see how they
play the "right" vs "left" game to confuse and confine the debate. .
