I am certain it WOULD seem tat way to you, June, but that is why I have stated that this is a special position and anybody in it must be carefully scrutinized.  Best bet is a father of one of the members but even they must be monitored these days.  Remember the father giving the girls date rape drugs and videoing himself raping them recently at sleep-overs, so even that is no guarantee.  But there is a great deal more to it than actual molestation.  It they compromise on the God and Country aspect today, does that mean tomorrow they have to accept something else some little group is cooking up?  Maybe work something into their creed saying communism and flag desecration are OK, too  It is a matter of standing up for that in which they are supposed to believe and not being jerked around by every group wanting to carve away at the Scouts and turn them into something else entirely.  There are other groups for these things and that is were people should go to practice things in direct opposition to the Scout's stated purpose.

Seems to me that certain people should be more afraid of church ministers becoming Boy Scout leaders than worry about homosexuals becoming Boy Scout leaders....

Molestation Charges Shock Miss. Town - By Ralph D. Russo, Associated Press
Writer 6/7/01 - Jayess, Miss. - "Valley of the Kings Church patriarch David
Earl King, 66, and Nathan Paul King, 32, believed to be King's adopted son,
were indicted in April on charges of sexual battery, conspiracy to commit
sexual battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor....The
indictment includes a second possible victim, identified as an 11-year-old
boy who alleges Nathan King attempted to have sex with him. Since the arrest,
Dillon says at least eight people from Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi have
come forward, alleging sexual abuse by David King and church followers. Some
allegations date back decades."
