MORE "ENTERTAINMENT US TALK RADIO HOST INSULTS FILIPINOS ON INTERNET" headlines the July 1 edition of the Philippine Daily Inquirer. "In the article, 'Filipinos . . . make me puke,' Bell lambastes Filipinos," the paper reports. "We are printing excerpts from Bell's article: 'The Philippines is a Third World country. Nothing respectable has ever been created by Filipino people during our entire human history. Nothing good has ever come from Philippines and I don't believe anything good ever will...The only Filipinos that can live successfully in Japan are the Filipino prostitutes." Slight problem. The e-mail purporting to be Bell's thoughts and words -- is a hoax! The phony Bell message has been posted repeatedly on USENET newsgroups and has been referenced in chatrooms. One posting has been traced to the Library computer lab at the University of California in San Diego. "This vicious writing is so obviously a fraud to anyone who listens to Bell's program and to those of us who know Bell personally," said a close source to the radio host. "What is so surprising, and alarming, is how it has spread... now a newspaper half way around the world has gone and published it!" Bell is heard on 500 stations nationwide.
