-Caveat Lector- I must add to this thing going on in Miami this board who would run the city wants a Civilian Police Review Board. This is the height of ignorance - for police are civilians, they are not militiary even though they have chosen somewhere along the line to have a Chief wear the Colonel's Eagles and a Captain Captain's Bars, etc. Who or whatever put these uniforms on civilian police officers sure was a moran. Note your County Sheriff has more jurisdiction and is elected; the police are just a civil servant under control of a Safety Director who answers normally to a Mayor or a City Manager who answer to the public. Civilian Police Review Board - how many times have I heard this old familiar tune - an attempt for a bunch of collective IQ of 80 to attempt to overthrow your local government in the form of "advisory boards" - something like self appointed UN? You don't like your local police, kick the Mayor and City Council the hell out of office but start first, by scrapping the Colonel Eagles, and Captains Bars, and drop the militant crap. The police are public servants, but no public door mats. We already have a militia and in the end they answer to a Govenor in case of emergency. And the Sheriff is the most powerful law enforcement agent in the State, for he is elected by the people and can be dumped by the people. Review Boards are nothing but a political cat paw and when you look beneath the surface - one does not need a preacher one needs merely to abide by the laws.
