that phrase Israeli Arab is such a divisive racist crock of shit. An Israeli
Arab is a code phrase for a moderate Palestinian. People on all sides of
this issue like to pretend there are no moderate Palestinians - the Arab
world so they can keep them as hammer, the Palestinian politicos so they
seem like a unified freedom fighting force that no one calls into question,
and to Israeli hard-liners and govt. officials, who want a even amount of
hatred and oppression and an unquestioning attitude to their actions towards
Palestinians.
IM very sorry the peace accords fell through - but too many people have too
much invested in hatred and violence to let it end. Too many people define
themselves by their enemies, and thus fear peace, because then they would
cease to exist.
