(AP) - Kmart Corp. temporarily removed ammunition and firearms from its 2,100 stores nationwide on Tuesday in the wake of attacks in New York and Washington, the company said. Spokeswoman Julie Fracker said the decision was made Tuesday morning. ``The safety of our customers and our associates is our first priority,'' the company said in a statement. ``Kmart extends its deepest sympathies to the people affected by today's tragic incident.'' Fracker said it wasn't clear how much the move would cost the company.
