that plane was aimed at the white house supposedly - the pentagon was just a
target of opportunity used when they overflew the target

these both bugged me as well - but brilliant terrorists have often made
stupid mistakes - whether through hubris, or just stupidity I dont know

i.e. tim mcveigh speeding in an unregistered car

the guy going to pick up the deposit in the van he used to in the WTC
bombing in 93

etc
