Oh good, a personal attack, that really shows intelligence and "impeccable
logic."
Why does this article completely ignore the 150+ writers actors directors,
etc in Hollywood who were blacklisted and unable to work, because of
political beliefs they may have held, or explored, or perhaps just didn't
denounce?
the article also rests on the assumption that anyone who for any reason
ever held any socialist or communist ideas, leanings, or connections was an
absolute risk to th4e American government. It ignores that during the
depression it seemed to many that some sort socialism would help ease the
pain of what was going on. Many of these, had turned away from this as it
became clearer what Stalinist Russia, and then china were like. In America
we are supposed to have room for differing view points, and not keep people
from jobs because their viewpoint is not in line with the prevailing
viewpoint of the government.
