what follows now is my favorite part - due to the omissions.
they were 5 young Israelis, working in the moving business , like so many
other Israelis do after the army. They were arrested because someone saw
middleeastern looking guys videotaping the WTC ( as were dozens if not
hundreds of other people) I'm sure they made sounds like " oh shit" and
"whoa" and "wow" when the saw the 2nd plane hit and when they saw the
towers collapse (as did hundreds of other people,. For this "puzzling
behavior" they were taken to FBI headquarters and illegally tortured. They
were found to be innocent of anything but working without proper working
papers ( like hundreds of other people in the US).
but all the omissions here make it sound much more sinister
they are being deported for working without papers. I'm not sure that
warrants torture, but hey 0 maybe I'm just un-American.
Their boss, an Israeli who lives in new york, and was doing nothing illegal
was questioned, and released, and there is nothing sinister in that either.
The FBI question people - it does not make those people suspects.
It is completely clear the extent these 5 were involved in the plot - they
were involved to the extent of videotaping it - like hundreds of others in
new york.
and then the last line is the best - following up on 4,700 leads - do any
of those leads have anything to do with these Israelis? not really, but why
not imply it through proximity.\
