*SETTLERS KILL ELDERLY PALESTINIAN IN NABLUS*

Palestinian civilian Ibrahim Ghalmi, 80, from Beit Forik, east Nablus,
was intentionally run over by Israeli settlers this morning. Witnesses
reported that a car of settlers chased the elderly man before running
him over and killing him.

*MILITARY INCURSION AND 'RAZING' ACTIVITIES IN AL-QARARA*

Occupation forces at dawn today carried a military incursion into
al-Qarara area, north of Khan Younis, within a distance of 500 meters,
and bulldozed dozens of dunums (1dunum=1000m2) of land cultivated with
vegetables and citrus fruits.

Two bulldozers and three tanks invaded al-Qarara from the eastern side,
demolished four green houses, uprooted dozens of fruitful trees and
destroyed a stable belonging to the inhabitants in the area.

Witnesses reported that the incursion took place at dawn under intense
fire and continued for three hours. Witnesses also reported that water
networks and roads in the area were destroyed.

On another front, occupation forces on Salah al-Din road opened machine
gun fire today at public cars and civilians waiting to cross after the
closure of the road for over two hours. Occupation forces based at
al-Matahin and Abu Holi military roadblocks, south of Deir al-Balah,
opened machine gun fire randomly in both directions towards for no
apparent reason after closing the road and leaving over one hundred cars
waiting to cross.

*OCCUPATION FORCES OPEN FIRE IN BEIT HANOUN*

Occupation forces this morning opened machine gun fire towards homes and
civilians east of Beit Hanoun, north of Gaza Strip.

Occupation forces also decided to close the industrial area of Beit
Hanoun and fired tear gas bombs towards workers forcing them to leave.
The industrial area was later reopened. Workers considered the attack
and similar attacks which the industrial area is constantly subjected to
as one of the tools used by the occupation to tighten the economic grip
on Palestinians.

Yesterday evening, occupation tanks and armoured vehicles carried an
incursion into Beit Hanoun, attacked civilian homes and bulldozed vast
areas of agricultural land.

------------------

*OCCUPATION FORCES SHELL KHAN YOUNIS*

Occupation forces at dawn today shelled al-Araysheh and al-Rabwat areas,
north of al-Amal quarter in Khan Younis. Israeli tanks based around
'Jani Tal' settlement, established on confiscated land in Khan Younis,
shelled the area with missiles and attacked it with heavy machine gun
fire. The inhabitants of the area lived several hours of severe fear and
panic.

------------------

*MILITARY INCURSION AND ARRESTS IN HEBRON*

Israeli occupation forces carried a military incursion into Hebron, from
the northern side (through al-Ram suburb), and arrested four
Palestinians. Several tanks accompanied by Special Forces and
helicopters invaded the area at noon today before arresting four
Palestinians:

- Muhsin al-Sa'id
- Tahsin al-Sa'id
- Shadi al-Said
- Usama al-Said

Three of the arrested were later released, while the fourth remains
under interrogation.

An Israeli military force also raided Beit Ora town and carried a wide
campaign of arrests among Palestinian inhabitants.

------------------

*SHELLING AND WIDE CAMPAIGN OF ARRESTS IN NABLUS*

Occupation forces arrested a number of Palestinians in Beit Amrein
village, north of Nablus. Those arrested:

- Two brothers, Thaer and Imad Abda
- Two brothers, Sufyan and Inad Abda

Occupation forces yesterday evening had raided Bita and Awdala villages
and arrested several Palestinian civilians.

Occupation forces also shelled yesterday evening a number of residential
areas in Nablus with (ENERGA) rockets and heavy machine gun fire. The
city was attacked from three locations in the north, south and east,
where Israeli tanks and heavy military machinery are based. The
shelling, which cantered on the suburban residential areas, continued
until 1:00 am this morning, inflicting severe material damage.

At the same time, war planes flew intensively last night over the city.

*ESCALATION OF CLOSURE MEASURES IN WEST BANK*

RAMALLAH

Dozens of Palestinian drivers were stopped this morning near Qalandya,
between Ramallah and Jerusalem, by occupation forces who either
confiscated their driving licenses or fined them large sums of money as
well as held them for several hours.

JORDAN VALLEY

Tight closure measures were imposed on the inhabitants of the Jordan
Valley area, preventing them from crossing between agricultural villages
and the Toubas area. Humiliating measures have been practised against
Palestinian civilians at military roadblocks that spread intensively in
the Jordan Valley area and other areas. One civilian reported that he
was prevented from crossing by occupation forces, because of his
"height"! The man reported that soldiers told him, "You are too short,
come back when you have grown and you will pass."

TULKAREM

Occupation forces today established several new military roadblocks
between villages and towns in Tulkarem, stopping civilians who are
heading to the city and attacking them. Army patrols on bypass roads
attacked cars, smashed their windows and tore their wheels.

Military reinforcements were carried along the 'green line' and
Palestinian workers were chased and beaten severely by Israeli Special
Forces accompanied by police dogs and supported by helicopters.

*PALESTINIANS DIED HOURS AFTER SURVIVING CAMP MASSACRES*

By Robert Fisk, 'The Independent' Middle East Correspondent
28, November 2001

Chilling new evidence suggests that more than 1,000 Palestinian
survivors of the Sabra and Chatila camp massacres in Beirut were
"disappeared" within 24 hours of the slaughter, often in areas under
direct Israeli military control.

The testimony - which describes in detail how the victims were last seen
by their families in the hands of Israeli troops and Israel's militia
allies - will be among the material to be considered by a Belgian judge,
who could decide today whether the Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon,
should be prosecuted for the slaughter.

Mr Sharon was judged "personally responsible" for the massacre by the
Israeli Kahan Commission in 1983. Its report concluded that hundreds of
Palestinian civilians, including women and children, were all butchered
between 16 and 18 September in 1982.

But among the female witnesses cited by lawyers in Belgium, who are
seeking the indictment against Mr Sharon, are at least five who claim
that more than 100 men were detained by the militiamen and handed over
to the Israelis alive. They were never seen again.

Separately from the court action, film taken by a television crew at the
time, which has recently come to light, appears to show Israeli officers
in the presence of Phalangist gunmen - long after the Israelis knew
their Phalangist allies had carried out the massacre, which caused
worldwide outrage and led Mr Sharon, then Defence Minister, to resign.

There has always been a discrepancy between the number of bodies found
in Sabra and Chatila - up to 600 - and the number of civilians
registered as missing - more than 1,800. Until now, it was assumed that
all the victims had been murdered by Phalangists and that many had been
secretly buried.

If accepted by the court, the new evidence could hold disturbing
implications for both the Israeli army and for Mr Sharon, particularly
if the Israelis continued their collaboration with the Phalange after
the murders in the camps and if they permitted the Phalange to take away
more prisoners.
