yeah, i know, i was just trying to put some humour into this otherwise
ridiculous subject...

homosexuality is natural; all sorts of animals do it. some of the most
intelligent, creative and most respected people in the history of the world
have been homo or bisexual.....it is neither a behavorial nor a
psychological deficiency. it's a genetic trait like hair colour or penis
length and not something that the individual has any control over. do any of
you fundies choose to believe that god would condemn a person for the colour
of their eyes or the length of their penis? why would he even allow such a
thing to creep into the gene pool if he would? "all right souls. those of
you with penises less than 6.66 inches can enter the kingdom of heaven;
anyone else is condemned to the pits of hell. please split yourself up onto
two clouds.". it's ridiculous. this is not a question of free will, it is a
question of what naturally turns you on. i repeat, the individual has
absolutely no control over this. do you believe that god would force the
individual to either remain abstinant or to never enjoy the sacred act of
sexual intercourse simply because god gave him a certain genetic makeup? in
essence, do you believe that god would condemn an individual at birth simply
for being born? if you do maybe you should question who is more evil - the
homosexual or this god that you worship.

the problem the church originally had with homosexuality is not that it's
"evil"; it's that it eliminates a possible father from the population. so,
they pushed it as an "evil" and "deviant" act that will land you straight
into the fiery depths of hell - nowadays, people still fall for these
scare-monger tactics but have lost the true reason that the church opposed
it. something similar can be said about pre-marital sex, which was
originally condemned because it created the possibility of single mothers
with no ability to raise their children and no possibility for marriage
because all the guys back then wanted the "purity" of a virgin. ultimately
it led to little but suffering - this was a genuine attempt to help people
by literally scaring the hell out of them, but it is a relic of a past time
and the church should drop it. gambling, also, was condemned not because the
church saw anything wrong with actually gambling but because places filled
with gamblers were also filled with excessive drinking and dirty words. etc,
etc, etc..
