Temperate and equilibrating, I adjudged on a purposefulness that
would avow me as a habitue of Appalachian eminence. Should I,
therefore, parry the mountainous range as a way to sanctify myself in
the borough's confinement, or should I belittle her peak in
glorification of the mighty Egyptian King Montuhotep, who established
his order from his capital at Thebes, over two-thousand years before
West Virginia aroused its collective fabric in a phlegmatic
backwoods?
I unearthed myself in a terra firma outlying, promenading with my own
conjecture as to the nature of the visit. Was the summons from the
Goddess Artemis Diana Ephesus? Or was it from the Ancient Goddess
Grotto, who bequethed to me her quiescent call for her solar deity
worshipped circuitously around the world? Grotto shepherded me to
bethink a righteous human and to teach me to poise in awe of life,
and to descry the cradle of humanity in the flame's flickering light.
West Virginian mountaineers who detect themselves to be placid in a cultural time of
mucilaginous Fabianism, form the sacredness of the land and prevaricate within each
soul that is given credence to, as a way to assimila
te their faddish postulates with that of the renaissance in girth about them.
The unabashed pomposity of which there resounds a tacit cornucopia unblemished by any
Noachian connubiality predestinates those combatants of Appalachia clans that hear,
and forswear by ornament, a kind of countrified cas
t of mind.
So I came unthwarted by caustic hillbilly types, and I exalted my spirituality,
between the earth's crust, the loam, and all of Mother Earth's outdoor pawns. And I
swept silently along, enabling the preternatural, as she
wafts her earthly tones.
