firstly don't talk too soon about fighting people like ourselves - but I also think the author misses the point of 21st century warfare - its not really about carpetbombing, cruise missiles and tanks, its about one to ones. Urban warfare like in northern ireland - shifty individuals outwitting the ponderous system. which is why in this new war on terror we find that individual freedoms are being stripped and tagged. the real enemy of the state is an individual - not a tavistock consensus droid. The author paints a picture of the west and america that is devoid of reality - comfortable and right out of the establishment news mill. Its something that the dictatorships cannot effectively fight - individualism - they can be classified, processed mostly caught, somehow missed - every person with an operative braincell is potentially an enemy of the state.
