Hi guys: Here is something that we have been working on in some groups I am associated with: Some of us locally and elsewhere are trying to come to grips with 9-11 and its implications, both globally and locally. We are creating a website that will discuss these issues in context to globalization, the anti-terrorist legislation, and the various wars of GW Bush and company (see backtodemocracy.ca). The website will attempt to be an 'emergent' site in which viewer feedback is incorporated into the design and action of the site. I pose the following questions for consideration: 1. What is the evidence that the events of 9-11 were due to Al Qaeda or to internal US forces (e.g., the thesis of Barrie Zwicker, Vision TV)? Cite evidence/references for either view point and be prepared to defend. 2. If the events occurred as stated by the US, what are the implications? 3. If the events occurred with the assistance/compliance of US forces/agencies, what are the implications? 4. For either, what does this bode for the future of (a) civil liberties in Canada/the US; (b) ongoing warfare; (c) globalization? 5. What can we do about it (a) locally; (b) globally?
