If I understand your thesis correctly, the agencies of the U.S. gov't cannot be focussed on performing a coordinated effort to achieve some predetermined goal. I've often observed musical groups and wondered in amazement how they can get their acts collectively together making music, whether it's duelling banjos or a full- fledged orchestra. It's almost as if it's magic and it's live. It's far beyond my skill to effect such symphonious results. But then, I'm not a musician. "[F]ar beyond the skill of U.S. intelligence." Hmm. I amy not be a musician but the understanding and even perhaps the acquiring of skills is not beyond MY intelligence. But it's really not me nor the U.S. gov't employees who are at issue here. Who are at issue is outside of me or the gov't or perhaps the various nationally recognised columnists. Assuming Americans' ineptitude at orchestration and despite the availability of American manpower, money, and materiel resources, we find the "terrorists": a group of Third-World quasi-legal aliens, operating off of a shoestring budget, outsiders in their host and target society, with limited overall resources, and, again, questionable legal status. And, then, once we have formed this group, we allow them, in our scheme, to simultaneously commandeer four advanced aerospace vehicles, partially filled with mostly able bodied passengers (many of whom are bonafide Americans), then allow them to fly with unbelievable precision and within minutes of each other, to strike their targets with 75% accuracy, inflicting total destruction on 67% of those. Three for four and two point something of those three. Wow! That's a lot of luck on their side. This makes me want to reassess the aerial teams of the various militaries around the world and wonder why they're allowed so much time and practice perfecting their aerobatics! I wonder if someone were just to sit down at a piano and begin plinking away ... All kidding and most conspiratorial "brain-storming" aside, it sure does seem like a lot of things happened just right on the same day in a short space of time. It used to be that the "Impossible Mission" squads would go FROM New York or some other major Western metropolitan locale TO a Third-World country and do dastardly awesome deeds. Now, the New Yorkers and Virginians have had it the other way around. And all this was done by someone else's IM squads? Who were even anonymous to each other? Not good enough. Not quite.
