Why? Didn't the founding fathers promote the idea of allowed dissent? It would seem that a draft dodger would be the first to reference "the fathers" in such a manner. :-)

No problem. When my country is being attacked, I'll "mount the wall" right with you. Problem is, most attacks are surprise attacks. They are not usually sustained for more than a few hours. When they're committed by terrorists using guerilla tactics, "mounting the wall" is definitively pointless. The attackers have come and gone.
Before you leave, visit a National Cemetery and ask those who repose there, if they will allow you to be placed in their honored midst, should fate require it.
I would imagine that anyone who was observed trying to ask the dead questions would be ferried off to the nearest ha-ha hotel. It's just a guess, mind you, but a pretty sure one nonetheless. :-)

Yes. I fight for my tribe. Nevertheless, unusual warfare requires unusual response. My suggestion is to take out one thousand of the enemy for every one they take of us. If the enemy is a terrorist who takes out three thousand of our citizens in a skyscraper, I think taking out a city in his or her country of origin is in order. For example, and inasmuch as many of the 9-11 terrorists were from Saudi Arabia, turning Riyadh into a smoldering pile of glass works for me.
I'll guarantee you one thing.........there won't be anymore trotting off to Canada and waiting for some bleeding heart to give you amnesty, after 58,174 sons and daughters have died in your worthless stead.
The 59,174 Americans you cite above died in vain. Most of them were forced into service to fight a war that should never have been fought. Communism collapses and has collapsed under the weight of its own inefficiency both as a form of government and as an economic system (with, of course, the notable exception of communist Vietnam).
