Of course this is all hand wringing analysis. What most American Jews (and Israelis) refuse to recognize is that the Israel / Palestine agenda is being driven by ideologue Zionists. They are the tail that wags the Israeli and American dog. These "true believers" have enormous influence in Israel (and the US) and will never permit the establishment of an real live Palestinian state. Their dream is Expulsion or Extirmination. Since those goals are not viable, they will be content with running an Apartheid Palestinian colony. However they are too ideological to understand reality and History. This alternative is an impossibility and even the lightweight Tom Friedman understands that once Arabs become a majority in Israeli controlled lands, it is only a matter of time before the world will force Israel to morph into a non-Jewish State where eventually the Jews will again be a minority. Arrogance and ignorance will destroy Israel.
