You like political history, so why not put on your thinking cap and examine the history of Israel (nation of Jacob) vs. Edom (nation of Esau). Of course Jacob and Esau were brothers. Now can you find any expert with the proof that modern Jews are more descended from Jacob than Esau? Look up Kohath, Kohathites, Korahites in the Tyndale Bible Dictionary as well as Edom. "John Hyrcanus compelled them (the Edomites) to be circumcised and incorporated into the Jewish people." (p. 299). Can anyone then prove that people today with names like Cohen and Cohn are not descended from Ancient Edomite ancestors more than Israelite? Even before Hyrcanus both nations had similar names in the Kohath-Kohathite-Korahite grouping. Not surprising...they were cousins.
