POC is one of BC's now-numerous micro-parties. Our members are as
independent as any independent who runs in an election.

We ran our two mandatory candidates in Election 2001 and got 150 votes.
Not bad, considering that as everyone knows, elections and governments
here are BOUGHT. The Liberals paid about $6 for each vote they got. The
NDP which came second, paid about $10 for each vote they got. POC paid <
$3 per vote. So which party is getting more "bang for the buck"?
But we were just testing the waters in 2001. We get serious by Election
2009 or 2013.

Now as I see it anybody who wants to give us about $10,000,000 for the
next election in 2005 could see us forming a government and in control of
$15-20 BILLION/year in public expenditures. That's one helluvah
investment. Maybe someone south of 49th. would be interested.

Not yet. We are working on it and it will go up in a few months. The idea
of POC is to work toward EDD (Electronic Direct Democracy) which is the
future of BCPOLITICS anyway. So let's lead it. "Political Avatars" will be
part of our future campaigns.

According to <http://www.gov.bc.ca> some 3/4 of British Columbians were Internet users
by 2001. In 5 years or so, the new EDD, "Electronic Direct Democracy" will be fully
developed and the CITIZENS' PARLIAMENT will hold the reins of power daily over the
Victoria Parliament. The 1996 Recall and Initiative Act enables CITIZENS to recall
even the Premier.
