It might be me, it might be the time of the day or the frustration about the
people in general but:

If people subscribe to mailing-lists why do they not try to understand how
they work?
Okay, there can be problems, but every day (almost) I find posts in
mailing-lists like

"please, unsubscribe me"
"how do I get off this list?"
"I was not prepared to get this much e-mails. You have not told me. Please
delete my adress"

I wonder if those people sign contracts and then say "oooops - I want to get
out of this contract, please do delete my signature"
Well, I think that most of the people will be able to read the contract again,
to see what is written on it, to check what they have to do to get out of the
contract.

Why is this not possible if is comes to mailing-lists?
I mean, if you take the ctrl-list, the posts there do include the following:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

So why not read the mails and find out what to do?
Why not go to the homepage and find some contact-address?
Why not do anything else than writing a post in the mailing-list "please
unsubscribe me"

We have a mailing-list at STOP1984, too
Infact we have three of them.
And I think if somebody decides to subscribe he or she should know how to
unsubscribe - but instead the mailing-list is flooded with questions like
"how do I unsubscribe? how do I change my e-mail-address..." etc. etc.

(sigh)

Twister

CTRL is a discussion & informational exchange list. Proselytizing propagandic
screeds are unwelcomed. Substance—not soap-boxing—please! These are
sordid matters and 'conspiracy theory'—with its many half-truths, mis-
directions and outright frauds—is used politically by different groups with
major and minor effects spread throughout the spectrum of time and thought.
That being said, CTRLgives no endorsement to the validity of posts, and
always suggests to readers; be wary of what you read. CTRL gives no
credence to Holocaust denial and nazi's need not apply.

Let us please be civil and as always, Caveat Lector.
