I now have Fedora 20 on my laptop installed yesterday, replacing F18.
I used the 64 bit F20 xfce live cd, and as wifi worked, did the usual updating
and loading extra stuff to get my normal environment. It all went fairly
smoothly though for a while wifi stopped working (I blame bugs in NetworkManager
for all such problems) and I had to connect via cable for a while, though I've
(somehow) got wifi again this morning and continued upgrading.
I installed latest(?) ctwm:
ctwm-cmake-r363.tgz
(source files dated Jun 8 00:38: last entry in CHANGES file is
Changes from version 3.8.2 to ???
xxxx-xx-xx

everything seems to work perfectly, and there were no problems with MANPATH.
(Launchpad seems to have a serious flaw: it produces tar files without
preserving last modification dates of source files (as if copying without -p),
making it difficult for a tester to find what has changed recently. I had never
previously encountered Launchpad so I have no idea whether this is a flaw
that could easily be fixed. I don't plan to use it myself.)
I now cannot replicate the MANPATH problem I alluded to previously.

I did not at the time regard the MANPATH problem as serious and did not
record any details. Since then I have not been able to replicate that problem
(after trying at Matthew's request).
Apologies to Matthew for raising an apparently unfounded concern.
My next message is about launching ctwm on Fedora 20.
