Hi Olaf,

What if you run the older jabref with the newer jdk? Maybe that
experiment can establish in which of the two the problem is.
Running the old JabRef with the new JDK immediately breaks it in the
same way that 3.4 gets broken. I don't even need to change the script,
as the following two lines are sufficient:
% JAVA_VERSION="1.7" "/usr/local/bin/java" -jar
"/usr/local/share/java/jabref/jabref.jar"
% JAVA_VERSION="1.8" "/usr/local/bin/java" -jar
"/usr/local/share/java/jabref/jabref.jar"
Where did you get JabRef 3.4 from?
I'm pretty confident it's
http://pkg.freebsd.org/freebsd:10:x86:32/quarterly/All/jabref-3.4,1.txz
Another thing that's a bit strange is the fact that the problems seem to
go away with icewm, although the behaviour regarding the events is the
same as seen with ctwm.
Best regards,
Alexander
