Is there a good way to launch a network control panel from ctwm
(running fedora + Xfce)?

Currently I have these two menu entries to launch the network selection
panel and the connection editor (both gnome utilities):

    "GNT" ! "/usr/bin/gnome-control-center network &"
    "GNE" ! "/usr/bin/nm-connection-editor &"

This works, but I dislike the gnome network selection panel, though I can
live with the connection editor, which I need less often -- only when
travelling.

Is there an alternative recommended by CTWM users?

I also dislike having a permanent bar along the top, bottom, or side of the
screen including a connection display or other displays. So I don't want to
use one of those to launch a network manager panel.

[I prefer the screen to be empty apart from the workspacemanager and, where
appropriate, an iconmanager with clickable icons representing current
windows, open or iconised, showing titles. Everything else is hidden unless
invoked by mouse buttons or special keys.]

Thanks.

Aaron
