I'm ok with this.  You're correct that the ghc-generics branch is now dead, 
ditto ghc-new-co.

|  repo was supporting the last stable GHC release, whereas the GHC HEAD

Presumably the same way as we do the libraries -- by branching at the same time 
as we branch HEAD?
