COMPUTEX TAIPEI Welcomes 30th Anniversary with New Logo * COMPUTEX TAIPEI has adopted a new logo as it heads towards its 30th anniversary in 2010. With its first show taking place in 1981, COMPUTEX TAIPEI has grown and risen to be one of the most important ICT tradeshows around the world, offering the latest trends and products to professionals. The show once again broke its history record with 1,712 exhibitors from home and abroad using 4,498 booths; more than 110,000 visitors participated in the global ICT extravaganza, among which around 35,000 were international buyers. We look forward to seeing you in Taipei in 2010. *Worldwide Motherboard Shipment Volume Expected to Grow in 3Q 2009, According to MIC * ** According to research of the Taipei-based Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute (MIC) conducted as part of the ITIS project, in the third quarter of 2009 worldwide motherboard shipment volume is expected to grow, partly as a result from the expected shipment stimulus provided by the Chinese market. Furthermore, as distribution channels in emerging markets are obtaining new capital, motherboard production orders are expected to increase. Demand in mature markets is expected to maintain the level of the previous quarter. Also, due to uncertainties regarding the development of market demand in the fourth quarter of 2009, many companies are concentrating their resources in the third quarter in order to boost their performance. Therefore, it is expected that worldwide motherboard shipment volume will grow 11.9% sequentially in the third quarter of 2009 to approximately 36.0 million units.
