This really belongs on the EVS newsgroup - it's got nothing to do with CVSNT. In the simplest terms, the goals of the EVS project are: 1. to build a LGPL framework for writing version control systems (EVSAPI) 2. to build an edition of CVSNT with better rename/tag and no RCS (EVS) 3. to write a 'CM Server' using EVSAPI which supports CVS, CVSNT and SVN (and VSTS), Web and WebDAV clients and built in defect tracking What you have been building on Debian is EVS + EVSAPI (#1 above). EVS itself is a very functional and useful SCM tool and some CVSNT users may want to upgrade to EVS + EVSAPI particularly on Debian I think. For instance our own cvs.cvsnt.org server runs on debian and we'd like to upgrade that to EVS some time next year and we've no requirement to allow SVN/VSTS/Web/WebDAV clients. Tony and I are looking to the millions of CVSNT users to see if they will support the Free Software model or if they are just looking for 'freebies'.
